VIKON chickens have lower fat, lower cholesterol and higher protein when
compare with other chickens. We have laboratory test results to prove
it. Vikon chicken meat quality tests are done on a regular basis and indicate
the VIKON has 37.9 per cent less fat than the conventional type broiler.
VIKON chicken meat has been proven to contain less water than white broilers
chickens marketed today. This is another cost saving advantage because
this added water is an extra cost for the producer. VIKON chickens were
tested to have increased shelf life likely related to the lower amount
of fat and less water content. Customers have told us that when they are
barbecuing a VIKON the less fat is clearly indicated with little or no
fat dripping onto the heat in compared to the smoke and flaming when broiling
a conventional type broiler.

Here is what CAL FRESH VIKON means by The All-Natural Way.......
1. All our VIKON chickens are grown and taken care of with careful, humane
practices throughout the entire production process, from start to finish.
2. We feed the VIKON chickens all vegetable diet. Fresh, clean and wholesome
water is always available.
3. We do not feed the VIKON anti-biotics, hormones or any man made chemical
products.
4. We do not feed our VIKON chicken with animal fats or animal by-products.
5. The VIKON chickens live and grow in stress free houses that provide
lots of room, no crowding and more than enough feeding and watering spaces.
6. The VIKON chickens are slowly grown for an 11 to 12 weeks period.
7. We never have to cut back the beaks of the VIKON chickens as they
are naturally gentle and nonaggressive.
8. The VIKON chicken meat has less retained water than the conventional
type broiler. This is about 2 % retained water as compared to average
7 % retained water for the conventional type meat birds.
9. Our VIKONS are very healthy chickens. They personify the word healthy
with their outstanding livability, bright eyes, alertness, continuous
moving, good eaters and drinkers. And because the VIKON is also healthy
in itself, we believe it is healthy for you too.
